Dell Visor promises a 360-degree display with a 1440 × 1440 pixel (2.89 inch) resolution screen for each eye and a 90Hz refresh rate. While the Dell Visor controller allows smooth movement of VR content and gives the wearer the correct feedback (real time).

The Visor has a pair of external B & W cameras installed to view the room around you and regular cable management so as not to interfere with use. Setting the headset to fit the user is done with a thumbwheel that matches the head size. Connectivity options include HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0 along with a 3.5mm audio port. The tracking technology inside the Visor is 6DoF, which is based on a gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer.

Dell Visor is compatible with a number of PCs including the Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptop and Inspiron Gaming desktop pc. If you plan to pair your Dell Visor with an existing PC, Dell recommends a laptop or desktop that meets the Mixed Reality Ultra PC specification. Zotac Empowers the Desktop Graphics Card On Its Mini PC

Mini PC series Zotac Magnus EK and ER finally officially launched after the success introduced at CES and Computex 2017 event ago. The first mini PC series made by Zotac is built using a full-size desktop graphics card.

Special mini PC Zotac Magnus EK Series comes with the power of quad core processor Intel Core i5-7300HQ 7th generation with clock 2.5GHz (up to 3.5GHz). The use of the GeForce GTX 1060 3GB graphics card branded Zotac or the more robust version of the GeForce GTX 1070 8GB can be found only in the presence of the mini pC model.

While different with what is carried by the mini PC Zotac Magnus ER Series. In addition to being armed with quad-core AMD Ryzen 5 1400 processors that operate at 3.2GHz (up to 3.4GHz), Magnus ER series also features a choice of GeForce GTX 1060 3GB or GTX 1070 8GB graphics card.

The basic difference between the two mini PCs Zotac Magnus is arguably only lies in the support of its processor and GPU alone. But for other support itself, both are said to have features that are fairly similar. Other support features include DDR4 2.400MHz memory support (up to 32GB), M.2 NVMe PCIe x4 SATA III slot, USB Type-C port 3.1, HDMI, Mini DisplayPorts, DVI-D, Ethernet gigabit cable, eight channels digital audio, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, SD card reader, and four USB 3.0 ports.

The standard mini-PC Magnus is a barebones solution that allows end users to specify memory and storage options that suit their needs. The Magnus Plus version is a Windows-based mini PC complete with DDR4-2400 memory support and pre-installed hard drives from the factory. For all mini PC Magnus series are both sized only 225x203x128mm, while for its own weight is varied according to the choice of existing components.

While alluding to the price and availability, unfortunately it has not been revealed during the press release.

AMD Delivers eGPU Support to Mobile Workstation Via XConnect

After successfully presenting high-end graphics card Radeon Pro WX 9100 and Radeon Pro SSG at SIGGRAPH and this time at IBC 2017 Amsterdam, AMD reportedly also re-introduced the Radeon Pro WX 2100 graphics card model and Radeon Pro WX 3100 new flagship. Both graphics cards aimed at beginner-level enthusiasts will be available at the end of the fourth quarter (Q4) this year.

The newest Radeon Pro Vega card will also be the choice of performance for the upcoming new iMac Pro generation later this year. The overall look of the 5K gamut can be viewed as an ideal choice for many of today's iMac-based designers. In addition, Amazon Web Services has reportedly announced the availability of machines configured with AWS Appstream Pro 2.0 supported by Radeon Pro. This is certainly a new breakthrough because for the first time collaborated with cloud-based applications. Building on collaborations with Intel, AMD leverages AMD XConnect Technology to introduce eGPU compatibility on its Radeon Pro WX series graphics card. This will certainly give more eGPU options to professionals who use mobile solutions as their primary platform. While the Radeon Pro WX 5100 and Radeon Pro WX 7100 graphics cards, which were announced in June, are now available, each model has been marketed for $ 499 and $ 799 respectively. Both are compatible with eGFX Breakaway Boxes made by Sonnet Technologies.

Samsung Galaxy S8 spotted running Android 8.0 Oreo

A week ago we overheard that Samsung is working on an Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and today the first solid evidence appeared – a Geekbench scorecard.
The result shows an Exynos 8895-powered Galaxy S8 running the new major version of Android. The score is solid though not any faster than what the phone achieves on 7.0 Nougat.
Galaxy S8 spotted running Android 8.0 Oreo Samsung has not announced an official schedule for the jump to Oreo for its flagships – the S8 duo and the Note8 are likely first in line, followed by the S7 duo.

Odd image found on Pixel 2 teaser page - it's cookies!

Very funny, Google. The official site for the October 4 unveiling of the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 has a secret buried in its source code – cookies! For once a web page references actual cookies rather than their digital counterpart.
The photo below is linked from teaser page, though it is not visible on the page itself. Digging through the EXIF data reveals the location – Google Building 43 in Mountain View – but we especially like the camera model and photo comment.
The camera is listed as “Google Not that easy ;)” and the comment reads “Stay tuned on Oct 4”. That’s a cute way to prevent leaking info. Nothing concrete is left beyond this – the photo is downscaled, there’s no aperture listed or anything of the sort.

The cookies are not even Oreos! Instead they seem to be black-and-white cookies. Well, Googlers do have a sweet tooth, the Android naming scheme makes that clear.

Here's how much it costs to fast charge the new iPhones

Apple finally brought wireless charging and fast charging to the iPhone lineup but you can't have it right out of the box.
The supplied 5W charger in the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X retail box is the same old charger Apple has been bundling for ages. In order to have fast charging you need to buy a separate charger and cable. And they won't be cheap, either.
Apple has tested the new iPhones with the USB-C 29W charger it supplies with the 12-inch Macbook as well as the 61W and 87W power adapters. The 29W charger costs around €59/£49/$49. Then you'd need a USB-C to Lightning cable, which goes for €29/£25/$25.
You could go for a third party combination, which is generally a bit cheaper but still expensive.
Finally, a 29W charger is much bigger than the standard Apple charger (and most Quick Charge-capable USB-C chargers).
But if you already have the charger from your Macbook or an iPad Pro then you're just 1 cable away from having Fast Charge on your new iPhone.

Virgin Mobile pre-orders for iPhone 8 go live on September 22

Virgin Mobile is a Sprint MVNO which decided to only offer iPhones to new customers a couple of months ago or so as part of its new business strategy. Members of Virgin’s Inner Circle (which offers perks on the carrier and Virgin’s airline) and new customers can begin placing their pre-orders for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus starting on September 22.
Yeah, Virgin Mobile is a bit late to the party, but hey, better late than never. Pre-ordered devices will begin shipping on September 29. Oh yeah, and those part of Virgin’s Inner Circle can get a free year of unlimited service (soft-capped at 23GB per month) for $1 (not a typo), just pay taxes and fees for service every month, which come out to a few dollars per month for the first 12 months. A standard rate of $50 per month applies after the promotion.
For those Virgin customers waiting for an iPhone X, pre-orders will be opening on October 27, though a ship date was not mentioned.
In order to take advantage of the $1 promotion, you must be a new Inner Circle customer and pre-order a new iPhone by September 28. The promotion also requires that you port-in your phone number and sign up for AutoPay.

Apple won't be able to match iPhone X demand this year

Pre-orders are open for the iPhone 8 and in some markets shipping delays are already to be expected. Well, if the plain iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are so sought after, it would come as no surprise if Apple ends up unable to meet demand for the iPhone X later this year, as Ming-Chi Kuo predicts.
A common source of intel on all things Apple, the analyst from KGI Securities expects that 40 million iPhone X units to be sold by the end of the year, but that would still leave some folks wanting a bezelless iPhone without one. That, however, would simply translate into sales next year, for a total of 90 million projected unit sales. The first half of 2018 is when Apple will catch up with demand, the analyst writes in a note to investors.
It's that round-cornered notched OLED display that's holding down production according to Kuo, and the front-facing 3D-scanning camera setup isn't helping either.
The iPhone X will go on pre-order on October 27 with sales starting on November 3.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note8 ad has nothing to do with productivity

Samsung’s Galaxy Note8 has just gone live in 42 countries on Friday and Samsung has released its first full-length television ad for it. What better way to appeal to an audience by invoking emotion?
In the newest Galaxy Note8 ad, love is the theme and two actors portray a brand-new couple who are figuring out their feelings for each other. The couple communicates with each other using the new Live Messages feature, which offers a more personal touch to messages. By the end of the ad, the viewer becomes emotionally involved with the couple, in which the girl sends a message to the guy confessing her feelings for him with an accurate display of emotions before hitting send. In turn, the guy makes a light-hearted joke before confessing his own feelings. It’s a cute ad, one that is targeted to appeal to anyone who has felt crazy about another person in the early stages of a relationship. With this new ad, Samsung is marketing the Galaxy Note to the masses rather than keeping it a niche productivity workhorse. Yeah you can still clip webpages and keep a messy collection of hand-written notes, but the Note isn’t just for professionals. It’s for anyone who wants to use it, and the ad chose a great way to showcase Live Messages.
